Meet Dr. Haig

Dr. Ryan D. Haig

Dr. Ryan D. Haig was born in Denver, CO and raised across the United States in Colorado, Washington, California, and North Carolina as the son of an Active-Duty Navy family. After graduating from UNC, he initially worked for four years as an energy analyst for a publicly traded demand response and energy management company based in Boston, Massachusetts before pursuing the healthcare field as a second career. In 2016, he graduated from NYU College of Dentistry on a military scholarship and then, in 2021, he completed the military’s only tri-service Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency programs at the President’s Hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Since graduation, Dr. Haig has proudly served the United States Army as the Assistant Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Fort Riley’s Irwin Army Community Hospital.

Now, with Wichita Oral Surgery and Derby Oral Surgery,

Dr. Haig is operating in one of the newest and most state-of-the-art Oral Surgery clinics in Kansas. He provides exceptional oral surgical care, including complex tooth removal (i.e, wisdom teeth), placement of dental implants, treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, correction of dentofacial deformities and malocclusion with orthognathic surgery, and biopsies of pathologic lesions under general anesthesia, deep/moderate/mild sedation, and local anesthesia to the residents of Wichita, south-central Kansas and beyond.

As a dedicated husband and father of two young boys, Dr. Haig has many interests outside of Oral Surgery. He enjoys traveling with his family, rooting for his English Premier League Soccer (Liverpool) and NCAA Basketball (UNC Tar heels) teams, golfing, hunting, surfing, and camping.

Dr. Haig completes over 100 hours of Continuing Dental and Medical Education each year, and maintains active certifications in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Advanced Burn Life Support. He also holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Wichita District Dental Society. Finally, Dr. Haig is a dual-boarded Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
