Dr Matthew Robertson was born and raised in the Canal Zone of the Republic of Panama. Fluent in Spanish, he attended college on an academic scholarship, graduating from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. After college he joined the Department of Justice as a Special Agent (Criminal Investigator), working in Miami, Florida for two years as a member of an anti-smuggling unit.

Dr Robertson attended dental school on a full military scholarship, graduating from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Ft Lauderdale, Florida in 2003. He then completed a four year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Army’s elite training program at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas in 2007.

From 2007 until 2011, he served as Chief of Oral Surgery and Officer in Charge of the Oral Surgery Clinic in Irwin Army Community Hospital at Ft Riley, Kansas. Dr Robertson left Active Duty in 2011 and moved to Wichita, where he worked in private practice until 2016, when he and his family accepted an opportunity to move to Austin, Texas, where he served as Senior Oral Surgeon for Smile Brands, Inc and was responsible for 20 offices.

Now, with Wichita Oral Surgery, Dr Robertson has opened the newest and most state-of-the-art Oral Surgery clinic in Kansas. He provides exceptional oral surgical care, including wisdom teeth removal and placement of dental implants, under general anesthesia or deep intravenous sedation, to the residents of Wichita, south-central Kansas and beyond.

As a dedicated husband and father of three young children, Dr Robertson has many interests outside of Oral Surgery. He enjoys traveling with his growing family, golf, boating, wine collecting, hunting and fishing, architecture and cooking. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Wichita Grand Opera, contributes annually to the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Association and supports WSU Men’s Basketball with a passion!

Dr Robertson completes over 100 hours of Continuing Dental and Medical Education each year, and maintains active certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. A past President of the Kansas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr Robertson also holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Wichita District Dental Society.
